1. Go there early in the morning: Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona Memorialà Ferry
2. Climb Diamond Head (less than a hour Hike)
3. Gotta try Giovanni’s shrimp truck – Yummy! Garlic shrimp Scampi ! =)
4. Aloha stadium for a huge flea market
5. Jet ski or parasail.
Wouldn’t really bother with the jet skiing because they have too many rules in Hawaii but the parasailing is something you should at least try once.
6. Kualoa Ranch- I would do horseback and ATV is the best. ( NO Jetski )
7. Atlantis submarines- if you’re afraid of Snorkeling, however it was boring to me.
8. Shopping and the Beach.

I think Hawaiian Airlines has the best program, and will combine air, lodging and a car. You may save perhaps $150 for 5-7 days. This is not as much as you would think because remember you are having to multiply the package cost times 2, whereas if you book a hotel room directly, you are paying a simple nightly rate. Most of Hawaiian’s departure cities are on the west coast, so if you live in central or eastern USA, check out United or American for similar packages.

Depending on how serious your wife’s health problems are when you go, note that Honolulu on the island of Oahu is the only place with heavy-duty medical infrastructure. It is world-class. If you have any problems, Queen’s Medical Center near central Honolulu has a great reputation and emergency service. When I am in Hawaii, I go there for my monthly pro-time blood draw since I am on blood-thinners having heart issues myself.

First of all, I’m glad your wife is doing much better now!
I would recommend organizing the trip on your own, as sometimes it’s a lot more expensive when you get one of those vacation packages. I would recommend using a site like Travelocity or Orbitz to find cheap flights. Also it is a good idea to check the airline’s website too because sometimes it’s cheaper.
As for accomodations, make sure you use those sites I mentioned as well, and search on the official hotel’s website too to see if they’re cheaper (sometimes they are). I would also recommend hotels.com. Try to find hotels that offer free breakfast or things like that.
If you are truly interested in a vacation package, I would start by going to a travel agent and asking them for prices. Don’t book anything until you’ve done searches online and made sure there isn’t anything cheaper. On sites like Travelocity and Orbitz, you can also search for flight & hotel packages too.
I would also recommend that since you want to show her a good time that you check Tripadvisor.com and look up the hotel you are interested in staying at to read reviews. It’s a very helpful site!
