we always go to bethany beach in DE. I’ve been going once a year or more all my life. we like it much better than ocean city. more families, fewer drunk college kids. rehobeth is also nice and has the best boardwalk for evening kid entertainment.
Of course if the kids are a bit older there is smithsonian in DC (not strictly md)
