John,
Jordan and Egypt are one of the best countries when it comes to tourism, the Zionist state is very dangerous place now, wait until it is freed from war criminals, now they hate Obama, so maybe they started to chase Americans.
Be carefull, search the word Zionist before you take your decision.
60 years is very young ! another 8 years and Palestine will welcome you.
Cheers

We spent 3 weeks in Israel this past summer. I travelled with a group of 36 members of our church.
We visited many cities and towns in Israel, but our main focus was Jerusalem, which we enjoyed very much.
Next summer we will be 72 travellers, as our enthusiasm has instilled a desire in those of us who have not yet been to the Holy Land.
I am certain you will enjoy it as well, as there really is a special feeling in the air, particularly in Jerusalem.
I cannot say much about Egypt and Jordan other than one of my friends who travelled to Petra mentioned that though it was interesting, the trip to get to it was very tiring because of the heat.
I also know of a couple who just returned from a cruise on the Equinox. The cruise began in Italy made a tour of some Greek Islands, stopped in Turkey, Israel and Egypt and returned to Italy. They said that they particularly enjoyed Alexandria over Cairo and that Turkey was well worth visiting. They said their entire voyage was splendid.
As for negative comments such as Aussie’s — who is actually a Muslim Lebanese living in Australia — please bear in mind that the people who come to this section to spew and harass are simply vengeful. If you look at the categories in which he answers questions (by clicking on the orange tab under his name), you will see that his primary interests are Lebanon and Egypt and therefore knows nothing about Israel, as he has never been there.
I hope I have answered your questions and wish you a very enjoyable trip.

There is so much to see and do in Israel, Israel is sure a beautiful country.Plus I have been their many many times and have always felt very safe and secure.
You should visit Jordan and Egypt as well, if you have the time, as they are very close to Israel.

Well mate , I am guessing that you are a Christian doing the pilgrim to the Holy Land thing…
To be honest , I once wanted to do the same but in recent years I have decided that I don’t need to actually see the area where it all happened to have an appreciation for what happened…
That being the case , Israel is definitely off my travel plans & the surrounding area is in….I refuse to sudsidise the economy of a country that has behaved so shamefully as Israel has , especially in recent times , & will walk the paths less trodden by Jesus but just as important ! Places like Tyre & Sidon where his ministry began ….Byblos where the apostle Paul visited…
Certainly Petra in Jordan is a must to visit if you get a chance but also Damascus in Syria….where Paul was converted & began his ministry.
All of the countries in the region have their place in history…

Egypt is definitely worth it. Go to Alexandria-the city founded by Alexander the Great. Or visit the only remaining Ancient Wonder of the World-The Pyramids. Finally, end your trip with a relaxing trip on a sea resort at the Red Sea.

I think Egypt is wonderful. I wish I could visit there. I agree on Alexandria being a great city, As it was created by Alexander the great, city of Cleopatra where the great Alexandria library that burned back in the day was. But I would visit the Pyramids. It is so wonderful that buildings that old are still there.

Most of the people I know say Alexandria is beautiful. Its in Egypt. Not by the pyramids though. Jordan is cool too because it has sites that prophets have been in.
