Should i go mountainerring or to Galapagos next summer?
I like to plan ahead, but anyways i have two choices of adventuring next summer. Im 15 right now by the way and im going to be 16 by next summer. My first choice is going on a trip with one of the science teachers and about 10 classmates on a two-week trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. THe itinerary includes spending a week with native tribsement and flying out to the galapagos. This trip costs about $3000 for two weeks. My other choice was to go mountainneering with a close friend to the Grand Tetons. It will probably include driving out to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, spending a day there, hiring a guide that provides all the gear, going on a 4-day climb of the Grand Teton (13,300 ft altitude). These mountains are of course not Everest but still snow-capped and very technical and should be awesome to climb. This will prolly end up being a week long thing for the price of about $2000-3000, depending on wat guide i get and how i get out there to Wyoming. Which should i do?
http://www. nps. gov/grte, go here to check out the Tetons
in the summer you can’t be the mountains. besides it is a lot cheaper and more fun because you are doing something all the time. there is nothing like the Tetons on the world for backpacking. go for it.
