How reliable is purchasing an air ticket, online, from Thai Airways?

I have purchased plane tickets from Thai Air, China Airlines and other airlines like NWA and UA without any problems. I have always used either a Visa or MasterCard credit card. The airline may ask to visually verify the credit card you used to book the flight when you check in – so have it with you.

I used to prefer paper tickets but over the years I now like the e-tickets. When I get my confirmation number back I save that email in memory. Using e-tickets you can always pull your itinerary and confirmation number up using the internet.

With a big named airline and a credit card like Visa and MC you have a lot of protection against fraud. Now, sometimes when booking foreign airlines with a credit card there may be some additional credit card processing fees that you do not get with airlines that are from your country. (When you compare ticket prices make sure you know if all the taxes are also included.)

Thai Air does have some sales running now. You can also use their telephone booking service. Many countries have toll free reservations numbers that you can use to book flights through. If you don’t plan on flying often overseas perhaps, if all prices are the same, check out the departure and arrival times. My preference is to arrive in a new country during the day hours as opposed to midnight arrivals. I hate getting up early for departures. That is my preference but I fly frequently and use the same airline with lousy departures and arrival times but with generous bonus miles and upgrades for frequent fliers.
