In a recent poll conducted by YouGov, the internet survey people, Edinburgh – Scotland’s capital city – was voted “the most desirable city in which to live in the UK”.

It is not difficult to see why.   Renowned for its nightlife and steeped in culture, Edinburgh has its own unique beauty and appeal.   With the majestic Edinburgh Castle, the medieval Old Town, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Greyfriars Kirk there are no shortage of visitor attractions.

On top of these there are all the annual events for which Edinburgh is famous.   The annual Festival in August is one of Europe’s biggest and finest cultural events.   It includes the Edinburgh Fringe, the world’s largest performing arts festival.   Visitors to this splendid city can also enjoy the Edinburgh International Book Festival, the Edinburgh International Film Festival, the Beltane Fire Festival and the much-televised Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

There are also a number of traditional Scottish celebrations in which to partake including Burns Night, the Hogmanay Street Party and St. Andrew’s Day.

With all this activity it is unsurprising that Edinburgh hotels and guest houses are in much demand.   To meet this demand, Sport Edinburgh Hotels is one a number of useful interactive web resources through which the customer can consider stars and ratings, compare prices and book online.   Spot Edinburgh also publishes a Newsletter which includes numerous Special Offers on local accommodation.

There may be too much going on in Edinburgh to be able to see it all in a day, but with so many hotels to choose from and with booking being so easy and straightforward there is no reason why getting organised and booked up should not be a stress-free experience.
