Within minutes of homes for sale in Breckenridge Colorado is a golfer’s paradise. The vistas of the mountains, some of which are still snow capped in summer, makes for one of the most ideal settings for a golf game. Breckenridge Co. is the only municipality in the world that can claim its own Jack Nicklaus designed municipal course that is open to the public during the summer months. The golf season in Breckenridge runs from June to September.

The golf course has twenty-seven holes, consisting of nine hole sections named the Elk, the Bear and the Beaver. The Elk has more elevation than the other two nines and is the most challenging.

The Breckenridge course has been named by Colorado Golfer as the Best and the Toughest Mountain course. Golf Digest gave the course 4 and 1/2 stars as one of their top “Upscale Places to Play” in the nation. Zagat has also rated the course.

But one could, although should not in this case, tire of playing the same course again and again. Not to worry, as within twenty minutes are three courses in Keystone in Silverthorne/Dillon Colorado.

The Keystone Ranch course is 18 holes designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. is a wonderful layout to test the golfer. The River course is a Hudson-Fry endeavor that has one nine that literally winds with the Snake River and the other nine is in a lodgepole pine forest.

Thirty minutes the other direction is the Copper Creek course in Copper Mountain designed by Pet and Perry Dye. With the 10 mile range as its backdrop, the course sits at the base of the Copper Mountain ski resort.

In another 15 minutes, one can experience the Vail Golf Club nestled at the base of the Gore range in beautiful Vail Valley. This course is just one of a number of courses in the Vail/Beaver Creek area.

One can certainly golf in the most beautiful location in the Colorado mountains for days. . .
