Ski Boots and the Snow
0Park City, Utah in the middle of the winter easily reaches 15 degrees and below. Aside from San Diego, Honolulu, Las Vegas, and other notoriously warm places, feverishly cold winter months are not unheard of in a majority of U. S cities. Having lived in Utah for the last couple of years, nothing has become more apparent than the importance of a solid pair of ski boots. Whether you find yourself on the slopes, playing in the snow, walking around outside, or even cuddled up next to a fire with hot cocoa, warm shoes are a necessity.
I remember my first snow fight. I played and played in my nice, initially warm, pair of Uggs. Unfortunately, it was not ten minutes before my feet were soaked, and all I could think about were what color my toes might be. I looked around at the kids who had grown up in Alaska, Colorado, and Michigan. Their feet were covered in thick, black, and what I considered mildly hideous, boots. But they were warm.
I was a California girl, who moved to Vegas and learned at a very early age that fashion was everything. But when I was the first one inside warming my feet in a bath tub, I set out for my first pair of that tragedy of a shoe. The ski boot. I can now promise there is nothing more rewarding then sitting outside the morning after a snow, breathing in the air, without a need or care in the world to be thinking about the temperature of your feet.
