Cheaper Family Ski Holidays During October Half Term

0

Taking your family on a ski holiday this season needn’t be expensive and stressful. With travel insiders predicting low availability and high prices during the February 2009 half term, the October school holiday is looking more and more attractive.

According to leading online European snow report provider, skiinfo, nearly 20 European ski resorts will be open in time for the October half term. In contrast to the massively popular February holiday – and this year most schools will be off during the same single week – availability is high, prices are low, and last minute bookings are a possibility.

Austria is expected to have eight ski areas open: Solden, the Stubai glacier near Innsbruck, the Pitztal Glacier, the Kaunertal glacier, the Hintertux glacier, Tux, the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier and the Dachstein Glacier. Solden will host the beginning of the Northern Hemisphere’s Ski World Cup during this period.

Zermatt, Saas Fee and Glacier 3000 in Switzerland all expect to be open by the end of October. As well as skiing and snowboarding, Glacier 3000 also features the high adrenaline Alpine Coaster downhill roller coaster ride with its ten turns, six waves and three jumps along a one kilometre track.

Options in France are limited to the glacier at Tignes and Les Deux Alpes – which will host the Mondial du Freeski and the Mondial du Snowboard during the half term week to celebrate the start of the season.

The Italian resorts of Passo Stelvio and Val Senales expect to be open, as do Folgefon and Galdhopiggen in Norway.

For those snow-seekers hoping to head further afield, the United States (including Colorado and Vermont) and Canada (including Whistler and Banff) are all worth checking out as ski areas often open mid to late October. You could just catch the end of the ski seasons in New Zealand and Chile too.

In addition to cheaper prices and quieter resorts, taking your ski holiday early may bring further benefits. Many European areas run festival weekends with special events and parties marking the beginning of the new season. You and your family will also have something to look forward to once autumn starts to creep in.

In preparation for a half term ski getaway, it’s worth regularly checking with travel companies for early bird deals and the skiinfo website for updates on resort conditions. Also consider pre-booking a meet and greet airport car parking service which will make the journey with children and winter sports gear an altogether smoother and less stressful experience.

Ski Accommodation A Number Of Things To Consider Before Making A Selection

0

When you plan to go on a ski vacation, you should give more than a few moments to think about the type of ski accommodation you are going to reserve. This will in the end make a huge difference to the quality of your holiday.

Before even making a reservation, you should carefully consider the options the different ski resorts provide. Study the facilities at the various resorts and make sure that the resort you are going to has other entertainment options apart from skiing. During any ski vacation there will be more than one day when the weather is simply not conducive to skiing and during those days you would appreciate something to keep you occupied apart from playing blackjack on your laptop.

In this regard there are ski resorts and ski resorts. Well developed resorts have a plethora of things to do in the immediate vicinity. Very often you will have a quaint little town nearby with lots of interesting shops and restaurants. At night you can therefore mingle with other skiers and talk about what happened during the day.

The other type of resort, which you tend to find more in developing countries than elsewhere, provides a ski-only experience. There will be facilities like ski-lifts and a handful of hotels and guest houses, but not a lot more. Unless you plan to ski around the clock, you might find this kind of resort very boring in the end. It\’s fine to go there for a quick day\’s skiing, but to spend two or three weeks there is really only for the hardened nature lover.

The more upmarket ski resorts, such as St Moritz, have a huge variety of accommodation options to choose from. There are certainly sufficient numbers of five star hotels to satisfy the jet-set crowd who only want to stay in top class accommodation. These hotels sometimes have their own little shopping malls and enough restaurants, gyms and saunas to keep you occupied during the days that you don\’t go out skiing.

Mid-range hotels absorb the bulk of skiers to these resorts. They mostly provide perfectly adequate accommodation and all the facilities that you can reasonably expect during your holiday. As a minimum you should make sure you get a private bathroom, cable TV and coffee making facilities. A very nice feature is a balcony. A hotel room can become very claustrophobic during an extended stay. The hotel should also not be located too far from where you plan to ski.

You will find self-catering accommodation in or near virtually all the better ski resorts. For the family man these are the perfect solution. They offer a true home from home experience, with kitchens, TV lounges and often even hot tubs. Many of the more upmarket resorts have heated indoor pools and gyms where you can while away non-skiing hours.

When it comes to ski accommodation, the guest house has always been one of the best-loved places to stay. The reasons are many. Firstly their rates are usually very competitive. The best of them offer facilities that can compare to that of a good hotel, at a lower cost. And the experience is much more personal than what you will experience at the average hotel.

Taking a super cheap ski holiday can get you the adventure you are looking for easily! Reserve your ski accommodation and start packing today for your fabulous holiday!

Apartments are also available that have accommodations that will house you and your family in a more comfortable home setting. There are apartments over different areas that are right on the slopes or close by. The apartment living gives you a more relaxed atmosphere and many still have concierge services at some resorts that give you all the amenities of a hotel.

Cabins are another option for people who want more room and a home like feel with a great view. There you can have a home away from home at a fabulous resort. Or you can stay nearby and be transported when you want to ski. Many of the larger resorts have cabin stays right on their property. This is great for a large family that needs the room or several couples that are traveling together.

For a fun trip you may want to consider a group vacation to one of the many chalets or cabin that are all over the world. These accommodations can be shared by two or three couples or two couple with children. The cost of the accommodation can be split with the families enabling you to stay at a place you normally would not be able to stay in. It is also fun to have a shared vacation with people you get along with easily.

Many areas that offer ski out facilities where you can stay right at the lodge where you are skiing at having the best of both worlds for your party. These are great opportunities as different members of your party can ski when they want to while others relax. Many also offer a private area for guests such as a separate lounge area between runs and private storage lockers.

Look online and you will be surprised the opportunities you have for ski accommodation in several parts of the world. Top Las Vegas Nightclubs

There is no shortage of nightclubs in las Vegas. One of the hottest nightclubs on the Strip is Pure, located at Caesar’s Palace. The Red Room inside Pure caters to celebrities and captures a sense of luxury and refined style in a hideaway secluded from the main nightclub. The 14,000 square foot terrace is also a great place to hang out while at Pure. Four stories high with a panoramic view of the strip and plenty of VIP seating, this area will have you dancing under the stars.

Rain nightclub, located in the white hot Palms resort, features real fireballs that light up the elevated dance floor and the water fountains dancing to the music. Skyboxes, cabañas and water booths provide a more intimate affair for 8 – 15 guests.

Looking for something a little more upscale? Try the 12,000 square foot Tryst nightclub at the Wynn. This celebrated nightclub is as stunning as the rest of the resort, outfitted in deep brown and red tones, velvet, marble, and evocative lighting. A 90-foot waterfall that cascades into a secluded lagoon offers a unbelievable view.

The sexy Tao nightclub at the Venetian combines great ambiance and music with an Asian bistro for late night cravings. Guests are greeted by bathing models at the entrance of Tao, where the lines to get in can get quite long.

If all you care about is dancing though, head on over to Jet nightclub at the Mirage. This is massive nightclub features three floors each with its own vibe and independently isolated from one another. The technology at Jet is impressive with cutting-edge lighting, sound, and cryogenic effects, not to mention an army of video screens.

Kid-Friendly Hotels- Las Vegas Style

0

The recipe of success used by these particular hotels doesn’t lie so much in their size as some of those that are not particularly kid friendly are bigger. The attraction lies in the fact that they are so different from everywhere else on the Vegas Strip. Rather than built to suit the gamblers, who obviously remain their ultimate goal, these hotels choose to offer something new and untried by appealing to families with children rather than solely to gamblers.

Judging by the results, the leap of faith has paid off. These kid friendly hotels have set the benchmark, gently guiding other hotels and casinos into cultivating a more family friendly image.

These family friendly hotels have not forgotten the need for the usual requirements, like onsite shopping and of course the ultra necessary wedding chapels and banquet facilities. The shopping is no different, offering everything from ultra exclusive boutique shops and salons to the cheaper stores such as Under $10 and the Trading Post, which offer fad jewelry and other kid friendly gifts.

There is no doubt that these kid orientated hotels use a unique concept that sets them apart from the many others along The Strip. If you are traveling to Vegas with the family I highly recommend at least checking them out and comparing prices and packages with the other hotels and resorts in the area.

Remember that comps and coupons are like cash when they involve food or activities that you were planning to do anyway. So you may be able to negotiate a much better deal even if you’re paying a couple more dollars a night by having free parking, complimentary meals, or tickets to events, shows, or attractions.

The themes used in these hotel casinos are many and varied, and stretch the imagination of the adult and child. From the medieval times of King Arthur, to the hustle and bustle rat race of downtown New York, you can find almost any theme imaginable.

For the little ones, what better than a circus? Clowns, acrobats and other lively characters weave their magic at varying times of the day and night. A great selection of paid and free attractions to delight the tiniest tot, right on the Strip.

For the older kid, and I guess the kid at heart, nothing is more awesome than checking out the Great Black Pyramid, or the fantasy of Treasure Island, or the real MGM lions to name just a few.

If you are looking for a great place to stay in Las Vegas, especially with the family, there are many hotels that have now embraced the need to cater for the whole family. Even within the kid friendly niche, there are many different themes that will guarantee fun and excitement. The hardest part will be choosing the theme so make sure you leave enough time to check them all out. The kid friendly hotels of Las Vegas abound. Welcome to another world, or should I say, a whole lot of other worlds.

Last Minute Travel Deals: Better and Reliable

0

Internet has come forth like a benediction into our lives and facilitated our lives in a better way. Alright, its accepted that this is in fact the most hackneyed statement of the modern times but the benefits by this medium are numerous. If for some reasons you are not able to plan your upcoming vacations because you probably not had the adequate time to analyse and search for an appropriate travel package and couldn’t book it. The best thing that they do is to book it through the Internet.

For choosing the last minute travel deals, you can visit any search engines and look for various travel websites that are present in abundance on the World Wide Web. All you have to do is to state your requirement and your budget. Lo and Behold, you will be given a number of destinations and the travel packages accordingly. Also, you can give a specific destination as your requirement and can also get the appropriate deals.

Last minute travel deals are certainly not phoney but are really helpful for eleventh hour bookers. You will be promised the best travel package at your desired destination in a very cost effective price. However it is also necessary to check the locations and the whereabouts of the destination and about the hotels that you are supposed to stay in. It will give you a fair idea about the nitty gritty of your tour. You should also be clear about the weather conditions of that area so that you can carry your clothes accordingly.

It is also advisable for you to freeze the final deal after visiting a few other websites in order to select the best deal available with you. And it is better to choose a whole package than to take the selective services as they may cost you more than the full package.

So cling on to the last minute travel deals as your best choice over the other deals at the eleventh hour. And certainly, you will be able to strike a better deal.

Las Vegas Night Clubs Revealed

0

TAre you getting ready to visit Las Vegas?  Do you want to party like a VIP celebrity, rock star, or model?  You’re going to need to know the lingo in order to navigate the really great night clubs.   Here are some key terms you should know:

VIP – Very Important Person.   These are the people who get the best service, the best drinks, the best of everything.   These are the people that most of us want to be.   Most people pay handsomely to be treated like a VIP, but there are Vegas night clubs out there that specialize in treating clients like VIPs.   Seek out clubs that have VIP packages, the ones that really cater to their clients’ needs.

On the strip/off the strip.   There are clubs located both on and off the Las Vegas strip.   Don’t feel like you have to stay on the main drag of hotels and casinos to have a good time.   A quick cab ride can get you anywhere, and there are several fabulous clubs off the strip for you to enjoy.

Bottle service.   Bottle service is something that used to be reserved for the wealthy VIPs that would come into night clubs.   However, for the right price, your group can also get bottle service.   Many clubs offer bottle service to anyone, and the number of bottles will depend on the number at your table.   You’ll be paying for the bottles, service, and table, but the advantage is that you’ll be treated like a VIP, attract members of the opposite sex, and get private service.   You won’t have to struggle up to the bar every time you want a drink.

Hosted Entrance/VIP Entrance.   Don’t want to stand in line for hours to get into a night club?  Check out hosted or VIP entrance options.   You can be one of those people that everyone envies as you walk past the line and get into the club.   This luxury may cost you a little extra, but it’s worth every penny!

Afterhours Clubs.   New York may be the city that never sleeps, but you definitely don’t have to sleep in Vegas either.   Across the country, most clubs close at 3:00 a. m.   At that point, your party options are limited.   Not in Vegas!  The party is just getting started.   Some night clubs will transform into afterhours clubs.   The party transforms itself at about 4:00 a. m. and keeps going until noon.   There are a lot of great clubs on and off the strip that are open 24 hours a day.

Jaime Rau is the General Manager of one of the hottest Las Vegas Nightclubs in Las Vegas, Nevada, Seamless Club. Jaime has managed this Las Vegas afterhours Ultra Lounge for years. Let his expertise in Travel, Nightlife and Entertainment make your next Las Vegas vacation an enjoyable one.
