My mom has just recently today stated that she will leave the house in the morning and for once in my life I do not think it is a bluff. My mom and dad’s relationship has never been smooth sailing since we moved countries -the fact that my mom refuses to communicate with my dad’s side of the family, does not make it easier to try to make it as a family- I have just only turned 16, and I already have tried running away from home when I was 8, and stayed at a family friends house. My dad works in a different country, so it’s just my mom, sister and I in the house. My dad supports the family by using his work to help me and my sister get a good education, as well as provide other things that my mom’s salary cannot cover. I respect my mom and realize that taking care of and bringing up 2 children by herself is hard. -dad only visits during holidays for 10 days-. Over the 3 years my mom has always brought up the matter of divorce to my dad, but it seems just recently that I have sparked it worse than ever. My mom today asked me to bring a pen, and when I did I noticed on the computer screen that there was a divorce website, and immediately I got hostile. I love my family more than anything, and I do not wish for it to fall apart, as I rely on it for everything;friendship, love, and acceptance for my stupid mistakes. So I brought up a very sensitive topic about the family issue to my mom and started protecting my dad. My mom then proceeded to say “Fine then I’ll just leave you three to live as a happy family, and I’ll move out of the house. Tomorrow when you wake up I’ll be gone, but I will put the divorce pages in a packet and you can give it to your dad tomorrow. ” I am really scared more than ever and as a 16 yeard old teen who loves his family more than ever, I am dedicated to pull an all nighter just to make sure she actually doesn’t, but I need to know more than ever what could I do to ease the situation or what should I do?
