Which country is better to travel to, Peru or Belize for vacation?

Question : Which country is better to travel to, Peru or Belize for vacation?
In terms of:

- Attractions to visit/Things to see
- Stability/safety of country
- Budget-wise

If you’ve visited either Peru or Belize, please feel free to share about your experiences. Thank you in advance!

I don’t know about Peru, but we took a cruise to Belize last Christmas and I am dying to go back. It was amazing there.

We went to a place called the Bacab Eco park. THey had a gigantic pool and we did horseback riding through the rain forest. They also had kayak tours, a butterfly house, and a nature trail. It was a wonderful place for a day visit.

Belize City had lots of handicrafts and shops- a very nice port.

There is a lot of scuba diving and snorkeling as they have one of the largest reefs in the world.

THere is also a Zoo, Animal Sanctuaries, and Mayan Ruins.

There are river tours and many other things.

As I said before I have never been to Peru so I’m not sure about it, but I love Belize and would reccommend anyone to go there. Another plus is that Belize is an English speaking country so you will not need an interpreter if that is an issue.

Both are nice but it depends on what you want to do and see,One country is way different then the other but i would go to Belize.

I visited Belize a few years ago. I was in Belize City and honestly, I was not in love with it. The city itself is very crowded with people and the poverty is quite apparent. It was definitely an eye-opening experience but as far as a vacation goes, you might want to remove yourself from that a bit. It definitely did not appear very safe and I would have felt very uncomfortable staying in the city overnight. I have been to the Belize Zoo which is pretty neat because it is very natural looking and in the rainforest area of the country. It is nice because everyone speaks English though.
That said, I would pick Peru. A friend of mine went there almost two years ago and she loved it. It has got so much history and beautiful ruins that I think it would make a great vacation destination. The only problem is that I think the national language is Spanish but I’m sure English would be prevalent in the tourism sector.
Regardless of which you choose, it is bound to be an awesome trip!!

i also took a cruise and stopped in belize. i can’t say much for it because i spent the entire time snorkeling and hardly saw the mainland. but i did see amazing coral reefs (second best to great barrier) and a little island called caye caulkner which people live on and get around with golf carts. it was very cool.

that’d said id rather go to peru. my friend went to machu picchu and i saw the pictures, they were unbelievable. so much more history and “oldness” to the place. i saw all the towns she visited and the vast differencein archecture. it looked really amazing.

Belize has a beautiful barrier reef second only to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Peru on the other hand has breathtaking mountain scenery and Incan ruins.
