Do I need to tip for delivery of my delayed luggage?

Question: Do I need to tip for delivery of my delayed luggage?
American Airlines “lost” my luggage again, probably for the 4th time. My question is, do I need to tip the driver who deliver the delayed luggage to my apartment although the service was caused by inconvenient reason? If so, how much? Thanks.
Ok, so some people say I should tip him. How much though?

NO!!!!! of course not. They messed up your luggage…..its like saying “Thanks for losing my luggage…..here’s some money.”

Give him five or ten depending on how many he has to carry, after all, he is doing his job and is not the one responsible for the screw up.

The airline either has a delivery department as part of cargo that delivers packages, or sometimes contract out to delivery companies. Thus you have delivery person that probably deals with packages to businesses more than luggage deliveries. They aren’t expecting a tip. It is not customary for them to deliver a package to an office and expect a tip. It would be unprofessional. So, as they aren’t expecting it, why chance that you could make the situation awkward for them.

There is no reason to tip the person who delivers your delayed bags. It is not expected by the person, and there might be a company policy against the practice. Just thank the man or woman.

think about it.
you are in charge of bringing you and your friends luggage to, say, florida.
and you lost your friends luggage.
when you find it a day later, would you really expect your friend to tip you?

YES !!! And thank him.
The driver returning it was NOT the one who lost your luggage. He is merely doing his job. He should not be penalized for the acts of others.

The guy that brought your luggage to you is just doing his job…he’s not actually the one responsible for losing it. His only crime is that he works for an incompetent company…but he still deserves to be tipped because at least he’s doing HIS job competently.
