Snorkel cruises are fun, and people who have only been on one, with only one company, all tend to tell you that whichever company they used is the “best.” But they have not compared it to others that could be better.

The “best” snorkel cruise and the “best price” do not go together. As in so many things, you get what you pay for. The “best price” is usually on Pacific Whale Foundation, but the reason it is less expensive is that there are a lot more people on the boat, up to 140 passengers, so it is harder to find the best place to watch and you get less personal attention. In my opinion, the best snorkel cruises are by Trilogy, which takes 50 passengers or less, on a catamaran that you can easily move around on, or see across from any side, to get the best view, and you get more personal attention and help.
