Royal Sonesta Hotel – French Quarter New Orleans Hotels?
Question: Royal Sonesta Hotel – French Quarter New Orleans Hotels?
Staying in August. The primary hotels I am considering are the Royal Sonesta and Inn on Bourbon. I realize that staying on Bourbon it will be noisy, but I am looking for opinions on which is a higher quality hotel. I also appreciate any other suggestions on hotels in the same area.

The Royal Sonesta is a great hotel, but the rooms facing Bourbon Street do tend to be affected by the noise. One option is to simply get a room that does not face Bourbon Street.
Similar hotels nearby are the Omni Royal Orleans and the Monteleone.
The Inn on Bourbon is not as decorative or upscale as the RS but is perfectly OK (same issue as the RS with rooms that face the street). It is a Ramada property.
Anywhere n The French Quarter Is fine – it depends on how much you want to spend and what type of hotel you like.
July/August is LOW season for tourism n New Orleans and almost all of the hotels are offering rate specials.

Hope you have a great time!
There are a lot of great hotels close to bourbon street that are not noisy at all. One that i like a lot is The Renaissance Pere Marquette hotel on 817 Common St which is about 2 blocks away from Bourbon and also close to the French Quarter Market and the square and all of the art and music! Great Location all around!!
