Question: What about an international health insurance policy that covers repatriation?
I saw in international health insurance policy that overs repatriation. . .can anyone explain what that means?

Repatriation means that when you come back to your home country after having stayed in another country for some years. These policies would give you continuous coverage even after you come back so that you will not have a break in insurance. The main idea is to help an individual have continuous insurance so that they would not have to suffer on account of going for a new coverage which has a preexisting clause. For the insurance companies they will benefit in having guaranteed business from this client.

It means, bringing you back to the USA. Example: If you’re on a cruise ship, and have a heart attack, you’ll have to be flown back to the USA usually by plane from the nearest port’s airport, or helicopter.

It can EASILY cost $ 50,000 for that.

It means to get you back to the U.S. The repatriation clause can come into effect if the U.S. issues a travel advisory for the country you are currently in – it will pay to get you back home or to a place of safety. Also, if a covered illness or injury results in death it will pay to get your body back home.
