Question: What’s the best suitcase carry-on for international travel?
Since, in addition to quality, size and weight are a consideration, I think TravelPro is the way to go. But which line?

Yes, TravelPro won awards.
Their lines are (in descrending order of price/”quality”):
—————————————————————-
Platinum5 “Best”
Crew6 “Professional”
FlightPro4 “Economy”
WalkAbout Lite2 “Thrifty”
TProXtreme “Lite, Agile, Rugged”
Wall Street VIP “Maximum Organization”
BackPacks
Personally, I carry a backpack for carry on luggage, and
one or two checked luggage pieces: a flight garment bag, and sometimes a hard-sided case.
Backpack & a flight garment bag carry enough for one person for a week,
then need to do laundry.
Better looking luggage can be target for theft.
Bad looking luggage can be rough-handled by staff.

In addition to TravelPro, you can also check out the carry-on luggage (http://www.briggs-riley.com/category/group.aspx?cat=travel ) from Briggs & Riley, especially their Transcend collection that consists of lightweight bags for leisure travelers.
