Review by K. L. Hawkins for Pikachu’s Winter Vacation
Rating:
Four, 10-minute stories starring Pikachu and his friends (assorted Pokemon and Santa). This is NOT for hard-core Pokemon fans, but is absolutely perfect for the younger set. Both my boys (almost 5 and 8) love Pokemon, but this is my four-year-old’s favorite, by far. The various Pokemon, led by his hero Pikachu, slide around on the ice, make pictures on the windows, save Santa’s reindeer and play together – NO evil-doers here! My older son likes it, too.
My biggest complaint is that it is MUCH shorter than regular episodes – again, likely geared to a younger audience. As an adult, I hear nothing but ‘Squirtle Squirtle’ and ‘Pika Pika’ and see a lot of silly antics for 40 minutes – but it’s perfect for the kids.
I only WISH I’d known you could get it with a CD sing-a-long! I can’t imagine what’s on the CD, but I’m sure my kids would have loved that, too. Anything Pokemon is good, right? ;-)
