I have been vacationing in Hilton Head for 20 years and have two pieces of property there now. The market for property on and off the island is down but more in the lot area than in the rental area. Over the years this has been a great marker for all properties but especially rentals and it continues to be so, I would look hard at the property and make sure you are buying into one of the established areas
