well, my first job when I was 16, was working in a department store. Phoenix is CONSTANTLY opening new retail stores….everything from Target and Kohl’s, to new C-Stores and Supermarkets.
Yes, hotels and restaurants are good choices, but the better ones will usually hire those with some experience. Sheraton will be opening a new downtown hotel in next year, and that will have lots of job openings.
Also, Phoenix has FOUR major sports venues in the area, and that requires jobs.
In general, the economy in Phoenix is very good. Might I suggest looking in the help wanted ads for the newspaper online. See links below.
Go to your local mall and try to get a job at the place you shop at the most. Chances are you’re knowlegable about it and that’s what they’d be looking for and you could get discounts.
