If the cruise line cancels the cruise, then you will get a refund.
If the cruiseline cancels the cruise you will be reimbursed. If the ship can leave port, and the ports you are scheduled to stop at are damaged to the extend that the ship can’t get in, the ship will just change the itenirary and your ports will change.
The insurance covers you if your flights are delayed, accidents getting to the port, you have to cancel for sickness or death in the family, lost luggage, emergency medical bills while out of the country, etc. But for cancellations due to weather that the cruiseline cancels, you will either receive a full refund or a chance to rebook at a later date.
