Question: Cheap Travel Insurance?
I am traveling to Southeast Asia for 3.5 weeks and want to know where I can find cheap travel insurance. I currently do not have health care coverage and wanted to know if anyone knew of other alternatives or companies or ways to obtain cheap travel insurance for the duration of my trip. Thanks!

Asia has affordable medicine. You may be better off taking your chances of not having travel insurance. American Express insures you if you purchase the airline ticket through them. Check it out.
Also, master card has a card where you can get insurance coverage using it. We took that option. The MC expired shortly after we came back from our trip and we did not renew the travel insurance rider on it. Hence we were able to get insurance for 6 weeks for less than $ 20 for four people.

Medical care in Asia is very cheap. When I was is SE Asia I had Landa travelers insurance. I never used it but it cost $ 120 for 30 days of coverage.
When I was in Costa Rica I feel off a horse and broke my arm and cracked my head open! (2 weeks in the hospital) Landa paid for all my medical expenses and my early flight home. In that situation it would have cost about $ 2000 but the insurance paid it all.
