Recommendations for hotels in the French Quarter?

Question: Recommendations for hotels in the French Quarter?
Can anyone recommend a hotel in the French Quarter of New Orleans or nearby where they had a good experience (or where they did NOT have a good experience) thats also reasonably priced? I’m taking into consideration: good location, good price, clean rooms, parking, etc.

This is not for Mardi Gras. It’s a Spring Break trip for my boyfriend and I. We’d like to stay for 1 or 2 nights.

The Royal Sonesta is very nice & actually affordable IF you book online. It’s in a great location. That’s usually where I stay when I go (I live in Baton Rouge). There’s also a Holiday Inn French Quarter that’s nice, not quite as nice as Royal – but it’s a little cheaper. Make sure you book online, you’ll save money that way.No matter where you stay, you’ll have to pay for parking – that’s just New Orleans. My recommendation – park and walk EVERYWHERE you go. Most places you’ll want to see are within walking distance anyway.

Make sure that ya’ll go eat at Mulates, you’ll enjoy it. They have great food, a wonderful staff & the prices are not too high. I hope you have a wonderful time :-)

I am heading ot NOLA in March and I booked a hotel room for $ 50/night it is a three star. check out priceline.com..You can what star level you want, what area you want and then how much you want to pay for it and see if they will accept it..It is an awesome site

Definitely look into the Country Inn & Suites hotel. It is located about two blocks off of Canal Street on Magazine Street. The hotel is in close distance to the French Quarter (5 min. walk max), the Mississippi river walk, a nice little mall, and the St. Charles Streetcar. I stayed at this hotel last November and really enjoyed my stay. I chose the hotel because it was highly rated on multiple travel websites and the price was rather low. It is a clean and comfortable hotel with the standard modern conveniences. They also have a nice little outdoor patio area with a pool.

If you book hotels through orbitz, expedia, etc. you may try googling for hotel coupon codes. Sometimes you can find a coupon code that will give you a discount on your accomodations, for example, give you $ 25 off your total if you book two nights through expedia.

The Hotel Villa Convento often has the best rates for a hotel inside the FQ, is in a great location, and is the only hotel I know of in the FQ that offers free parking for guests: http://www.villaconvento.com

Check http://www.frenchquarterhotels.com for a selection of non-chain hotels in the FQ.

Also check the travel sites like Expedia and Travelocity, plus remember to check the hotel websites for Holiday Inn, Hilton, Marriott, etc.

What ever you do not eat at mulates its the worst food ever… You want a good restaurant go to muriels, Commanders, Brigtsens, Brennans, Cafe Adelaide, i could go on.
