Question: what are some cheap hotels in maui?
i am looking for a hotel in maui that is around $ 100 per night, or fairly cheap. i would like to stay somewhere by the beach and the city. there are 2 adults and 2 children. any suggestions? thank you!
when i went to waikiki, i stayed in a hotel called ohana east, and it was about $ 113 a night. i am looking for someplace with the same kind of rates.

Maui Seaside in Kahului comes pretty close to your price request. I have never stayed there & the reviews on line were mixed. What I know of the place, it is where high school sports teams stay when they are going over to Maui for a tournament. I don’t think there are swimmable beaches right at the hotel, but it is close to Kahului, which is about as close to “city” as you can find on Maui.

The best thing I have found is to use priceline.com and a rebidding strategy to maximize your bids. You can identify the hotel star rating you are going for Maui and then identify all zones in Maui area that only have star ratings below that hotel rating. Then you can start out with a bid of 50% off the normal price and bid multiple tmes at increments of $ 5 to $ 10 to get the cheapest rate. I have used this strategy multiple times to get 4 or 5 star hotels at sometimes 50% off the original price. Here’s the link that identifies the complete strategy:
