  • 1st edn, ltd to 1000 signed, numbered, & slipcased copies.

The Hunting Instinct is a well-illustrated and action-packed chronicle about Philip D. Rowter’s hunting experiences in South Africa and Namibia, covering eight safaris from 1990 to 1998. Apart from taking the reader in search of trophy game, this captivating and highly entertaining book also provides biological information on the Big Five and most plains game species encountered and hunted along the hot, dusty, insect-bitten, snake-ridden way. It tells the story of game and environmental conservation efforts, encounters with various dangerous creatures, and death under the African sun. The fast-paced text has been forged from Rowter’s experiences and is a true tale crammed full with the thrills, dangers, and disappointments of the chase. It is about the persistent instinct called hunting.

Family-friendly hotels in San Francisco, CA?

Question: Family-friendly hotels in San Francisco, CA?
Does anybody know of any good family-friendly hotels in San Francisco?
(san francisco family hotels)

Answer by MomSezNo
No, but I have two suggestions. Either Fodor’s or Frommer’s have a “family friendly” type feature on their website and in their guidebooks, so you might check that. You could also try TripAdvisor.com. They give destination guides and have reviews of hotels from past guests and I’ve used it many times and never been disappointed. You might also try HomeAway.com – they feature apts/condos for rent and that might be a good option for a family, as you can save some money on breakfast and snacks, etc.

San Francisco is an awesome city – have a great time!

PS: You might also want to check CityPass.com. They have a “combo” ticket for sights in SF that might save you some money [you'll have to calculate it out to see if it will].

Is the Continent of Africa, The Country to stay away from, or can I visit there to see the beginnings of time?

Question: Is the Continent of Africa, The Country to stay away from, or can I visit there to see the beginnings of time?
I travel quite a bit, Africa is a Continent I have always wanted to visit. South Africa is more to my liking, but just like the United States, I would like to travel all over the country visiting the people, learning their culture, and language. I have visited Europe, and have enjoyed the many pleasant people, and their way of life. My next trip is to Ireland, and then hopefully to South Africa. Learning about other people and the way they live, love, and create is of much value to me as a human being. I have sommething to share, and I need to learn all I can about the Countries I visit. Knowing more about the Human Race, helps me to be a more compassionate person, and open to different things.

How fortunate you are that you get to travel, and study the people of different countries. I can’t tell you anything about Africa. Why do you think the beginnings of time are there?

Washington DC Hotels for Family Vacation?

Question: Washington DC Hotels for Family Vacation?
We are planning on traveling S. Florida to DC on Aug 8-15 for a family vacation. We have two families going with 4 kids, ages 8 -16. We are so very confused as to where to stay. We have the options of flying into Dulles or Reagan. At first we thought about staying in Downtown DC, now we are considering staying somewhere on the outskirts, and taking the Metro to see the sites. I have been online until my eyes are sore, trying to determine the best choices, and have totally confused myself. Can anyone please recommend a hotel in the price range of $ 120.00-$ 150.00 a night that would best fit our needs. What are thoughts of staying downtown as opposed to staying a little farther away , pros / cons? Any info at all would help us ! Thanks so much!!!

Best Western, Rosslyn

Comfort Inn, Pentagon

anywhere in Arlington, VA, close to town, and near a metro. Ballston, Clarendon, Rosslyn, Crystal City, Pentagon City, are fairly safe areas. Lots of restaurants to choose from.

You should stay on the outskirts, in Virginia stay near metro stations, it’s easy to get into town that way. For your budget. It’s too expensive in downtown, and probably small, and rundown. Plus all you need a clean bed and place to sleep to recharge batteries for all the walking.

Good luck!

How to plan short breaks in Amsterdam with Family?

For hotel space, use one of the many hotel finders, there are many on internet.
Use an on-line map to see where the hotel is before you book as you do not want to stay in the middle of the red light district.
Or contact the tourist information office and book through them.
Also look for self catering places, they do exist but are hard to find on internet.

I often give this link when people ask about Amsterdam, that is because they mention almost all you can want to know about the town, and give links to more sites:

http://www.amsterdam.info/

For planning your stay, use the site and see the things you like. There is a page with museums, one with historic sights, one about shopping, and do not forget the Zoo:

http://www.amsterdam.info/sights/zoo/

If you talk with your children about the women in the windows and why some people act funny, it is not even considered strange to walk through the red light district. You will see more families there, and when you are with your children you can explain things.

The Last Minute Vacation – How to Save Money by Booking Travel at the Last Minute

0

Are You A Spontaneous Person That Likes To Get Away At A Moment’s Notice, But Feel You Can’t Afford It?

If you still think that you have to pay higher prices for last minute travel deals, think again. No more higher prices on places that you want to go to at the spur of a moment. Maybe you’re bored and need to get away from your familiar surroundings. Or you just want to go somewhere and do some things that you’ve never done before. However, you feel that since this is a last minute effort, that you won’t have enough money to do it. Don’t despair, because those days are over.

With a few tips and strategies, you can have the vacations of your dreams, even if it is at the last minute. These secrets shared in this report are a virtual goldmine. You will discover things that you never would have thought about doing if you wanted to travel at the last minute. Back in the day, you knew that if you were trying to go anywhere at the last minute that it would cost you an arm and a leg—just about double of the regular price.

You know the saying, “You have to pay for convenience”—well, it’s still true to a certain extent. Fortunately for you and many others, it doesn’t apply when looking to travel at the last minute.

If you are one of those theater buffs that enjoy Broadway plays and shows, then you will be able to hop on a plane and jet to New York City within a matter of hours when you decide to go at the spur of the moment. Or how about the Caribbean, where you can enjoy the warm weather and be able to relax at a moment’s notice.

Procrastination can be a bad habit that is not easy to break. Just about everyone holds back on something that they need to do. Why? Most of the time it’s because they dread doing whatever it is they need to do. They can’t bring themselves to making themselves do whatever they are supposed to execute. With making plans for travel, it’s a different story. It actually turns into the opposite. You just would not believe how much money you would save if you booked your flight, hotel room and car rental at the last minute—it’s amazing.
