Anybody know good short term insurance?

Question: Anybody know good short term insurance?
I need short term insurance until February that will at least cover emergencies without having to pay so much that I have to cash out my life insurance policy. I would like one that allows me to also go to the doctor without paying for the whole visit out of pocket.

I am a student but I would prefer not to see any student doctors.
ETA: I have life insurance because I’m in the military and just got back from deployment. I just need insurance for 5-6 months until Tricare will accept me in Feb.

There are short term policies called gap policies. They usually have a 6 month policy that can be renewed 1 time only. You can get these policies for a specific term. ie; 1 month only or up to the 6 months. They usually are ideal if say you are changing jobs and say the new employer will not cover you for 30 to 90 days, so you need coverage till new coverage starts, or even if you had coverage from prior job and you have cobra, the cobra premium could be 3 or 4 times higher than the gap policy premium.

But here are the shortfalls. They will not cover pre-existing conditions. Most policies state that say you were treated for something in the last 18 months to 2 years, they will exclude it.

Also, most will not cover well care, but will have a high deductible, so in effect you will most likely pay 100% for any doctor visits, RX etc. But the only advantage is that you get the insurance rate and pay that. ie; doctor charges $ 87, the insurance rate is $ 66, so you owe $ 66.

One of the advantages is that they cover catastrophic events which you need.

Call an independent agent and tell them what you are looking for. They will most likely be able to quote you many different plans and prices.

good luck

Holiday in the Sun

Mary-Kate and Ashley are spending Winter Break in the Bahamas. Their parents bring them along, but that means they have to miss their school trip to Hawaii with their best friends. Determined to make the best of the situation, the girls decide there’s only one thing to do: unleash a tropical hurricane of off-the-hook action and head-over-heels romance! Whisked away to the Bahamas in a private jet by their pilot dad, Mary- Kate and Ashley Olsen (playing twins Alex and Madison) are initially disappointed to be missing their class trip to Hawaii. (Just what high school do these girls attend?) But the 15-year-olds recover upon meeting up with their mom on the sunny tarmac, checking into their own suite at the Atlantis resort, and getting acquainted with some cute boys on the island. Parents may see this 88- minute movie as one long advertisement for the Paradise Island resort, with the constant mentioning of its name and endless showcasing of its attractions. But kids, particularly girls ages 7 to 12, will get a kick out of Alex’s rivalry with the rich superwitch Brianna for marine worker Jordan’s affections. Then there’s the updated Cyrano storyline with Dad’s business partner’s son Griffen coaching dim-but-likable Scott on how to win over Madison. Throw in an antiquities smuggling subplot, some dolphin hugging, horseback riding, and wave running and you’ve got some fairly innocent entertainment augmented with frothy tunes by teen group up-and-comers Play, Empty Trash (featuring vocals by the twins), Tte American Girls, and Noogie. –Kimberly Heinrichs

Any opinions on Park City Mountain Resort in Utah?

Question: Any opinions on Park City Mountain Resort in Utah?
I have been offered a job there and am considering moving there. How are the skiing/snowboarding conditions? What’s the atmosphere like of the city and the resort?

It’s absolutely beautiful! Awesome skiing and snowboarding conditions, in fact a few Olympic contenders have come from there. Then there’s always the Sundance film festival. It’s such a quaint little town, away from the big city, but close enough it’s not a long drive. Many people have vacations homes there, so that must tell you something. Be warned though, it’s not the cheapest place to live because it’s such a desirable destination.

Maui

I have never really found one web site to be the best.

A lot of sights claim to be the lowest or best. But they often have hidden fee

What I might suggest is to check your airline web site. Nearly all have a site for Hotel bookings, and they give you a very good deal. It does not need to be a tour, just book the hotel of your choice

Manzanillo, Mexico & The Costa Alegre

0

Awarding-winning travel journalist Joseph Rosendo explores Mexico’s Costa Alegre – “the happy coast” – and Manzanillo, the resort village made famous by the movie “10″.

“One Mexican resort is just like another, ” many people think. “Lots of sand, sun and greasy bodies.” At first glance Manzanillo may seem to fit that description, but the visitors soon finds it to be much more than just a day at the beach.

To understand the appeal of Manzanillo the traveler needs to know that it is located in the State of Colima, Mexico’s fourth smallest state, whose attractions range from colonial history to geological wonders like active volcanoes, to natural settings from jungles to rain forests, as well as, to five star resorts offering excellent cuisine and beautiful beaches. But, foremost, they must understand that Manzanillo’s greatest treasure is its people.

In this half-hour that is part of Travelscope Television’s premiere season Travelscope highlights the state and city of Colima, goes deep sea fishing in Manzanillo Bay, whips up some tasty tiritas de pescado with a little help from the locals, joins the on-going fiesta in Comala and discovers some of the Costa Alegre’s elegant resorts such as Las Hadas, Grand Bay Hotel and Tamarindo Gold Resort. We soon find out why it is called, “The Costa Alegre — The Happy Coast.”
