Question: What is the best family winter vacation spot in the United States? ?
We’re thinking of planning a trip after christmas from dec 29-jan 2 —–Where would be the best place to visit? We live in texas & are looking to visit maybe colorado or utah. We’re not huge skiers & we have two kids under 4, where would be a great place for us to visit & why? We’d also like to visit a place with snow that is easy to get to from the airport.

Call me old-fashioned, but Disney resorts still are the best family winter places in my opinion. There is something for everyone, no matter what your tastes are. Whether Florida or California, it’s Disney.

Question: Health insurance in Greece for a U.S. citizen?
Hi, I am a U.S. citizen trying to get a 1-year resident permit to stay in Greece. One of the things that I have to do is provide a certificate that verifies that I have 1 year’s worth of health insurance. Does it matter what type of insurance I have – Greek or American, or some kind of international insurance policy? Any suggestions for one that is not too expensive?

if you have american health insurance valid for outside USA there is no problem

I’m 23 and my parents can’t cover me under family insurance anymore. Buying from my work place is very expensive and have to work at least 32 hours. Buying from University is about $ 1,400 a year. I need help, plz offer your opinion. Thank you.

It all depends on what state you are in. Here in Missouri I have invested in a HSA (Health Savings Account) for my wife (31) and daughter (1), as my office covers me. Their monthly premium is $ 284 for the high deductible policy, and then we put $ 50 per month into the HSA account.
I got ours from Anthem, which is a Blue Cross and Blue Shield program. See http://anthem.com/.

I read about that sometimes ago from either Newsweek or Times. Basically it cost less for surgeries and the clinics is up to standard. But it’s still a debating issue among US insurance companies. But if you are living in Thailand, this website may help you:

Question: Spring break family vacation ideas?
My family and I are going on a short vacation for spring break, which is in a week. We are planning on leaving thursday, the 20th, and comming back Sunday, the 23rd. We are currently in Chicago. We are planning on renting an RV. But, the only problem is…we dont know were to go! We are trying to find a kid friendly, better yet, “preteen” friendly place. My cousin and I, who will be on the trip, are both 13. It needs to be realistic.. We dont want to spend too much money.. so please, make it reasonable.

Question: Do I need medical insurance to enter Prague?
My travel agent says the Prague govenment requires all tourists to have written documentation of medical insurance that is a minimum of $ 1 million in coverage. Does anybody know if this is true? I can’t find any info online.
UPDATE TO QUESTION — Just to clarify for all, I am asking about the $ 1 million minimum because it seems like an odd number requirement…I’m not asking so I can skip buying travel insurance…

The Czech Republic government does require tourists to have travel/medical insurance before entering the country. See link below:

Whenever you travel outside your own country you should have some form of travel/medical insurance to cover the costs of lost baggage, cancelled flights, accidents, hospitalisation, any medical costs, and the possibility of medical evacuation. If you can’t afford this insurance you should not be travelling at all.

EDIT: the link I provided to the relevant page of the Czech Republic Embassy website states “Minimum coverage must be at least 45 000 USD”. Think I’d trust an Embassy website more than I’d trust a travel agent. So I suggest you use this figure as a guide, and contact the Embassy if you need any clarification.

You could also ask your travel agent to show you the documentation stating the need for $ 1 million in coverage.
