Answer by MadMan
it is unlikely that they will be able to get medical insurance in Germany for a stay of 1 year in the US. However, since they are in Germany, it would be easier for them to inquire at an insurance company in Germany rather than you posting a question in an immigration.

How does a Canadian buy travel insurance outside of Canada?

Question: How does a Canadian buy travel insurance outside of Canada?
I am a Canadian citizen, I pay my taxes and my medical bills on time and I am still considered a resident of Canada. I have been in China for over a year and my previous insurance ran out – which didn’t matter because I am covered in China by the school I work for. Now I have to go to Ghana for a week. I’d like to buy travel insurance, but all the sites I’m finding say that you must be in Canada to buy the insurance. I can’t go home first! What should I do?

Here are some links-
I had a similar situation- I was living in the Caymans Islands, no longer a Canadian resident, and wanted to travel for the summer. But every policy required that Canadian citizens be insured in their home privince, which I no longer have as non-resident. IMG was the only one I found, but as you DO have Canadian insurance, this will be easy for you. There are lots of short-term plans.

Not exactly. Cigna has a foreign liability policy with a rider that a company can purchase, with a limited amount of “health” type coverage including emergency transportation via air to another country, for US residents that are in another (specified) country on business, on a short term basis. Not EVERY country is going to be included. It’s not true “health” insurance, it just reimburses you usually up to $ 50,000, for emergency medical expenses – the broken arm, broken leg, heart attack kinda stuff. No meds are covered, and nothing is preauthorized. Oh, and preventative maintenance or long term conditions (such as pregnancy or cancer) are DEFINATLY not covered. It’s really an accident coverage.

Hi,

I would suggest going to Harpers Ferry in West Virginia — it’s an hour a way from Washington, DC and has class 1-3 rapids.

Here are a few companies that have guided tours:

PHR-I: ‘The Military repeatedly violated Medical Ethic Codes during its Gaza Offensive’ ?

Question: PHR-I: ‘The Military repeatedly violated Medical Ethic Codes during its Gaza Offensive’ ?
A report came out today in Israel from Physicians for Human Rights that says ‘The Military repeatedly violated Medical Ethic Codes during its Gaza Offensive’ and gives specific examples of the prevention of medical assistance from the trapped and the wounded, severe difficulties for emergency medical evacuation, attacks on medical personnel and medical facilities, and de facto prevention of the chronically ill and gravely wounded from receiving medical care outside Gaza.

It also reports 16 medical personnel killed and 25 wounded from the Israeli army’s fire, all of them while performing their medical duties. Furthermore, 34 medical facilities were hit by the army, 8 hospitals and 26 primary care clinics – “this in severe violation of directives of international law that forbid attacks on medical personnel and medical facilities in times of fighting.”

Does Israel have its own special set of ethics and is this ok with the rest of the world?

Israel is allowed to blow UN trucks up and kill their workers, Israel is allowed to blow up hospitals. Israel is allowed to force their children into the army or have them face arrest.is allowed to kill 580 children in one week, Israel is allowed to starve people of basic necessities like food, water, good plumbing systems, and medicine. Israel is allowed to be given 4 billion by the US to fund their acts. Israel is allowed to use human sheilds during their operations in the west bank, Israel is allowed to imprison people behind an apartheid wall, Israel is allowed to put people in ghettos. Israel is allowed to cry teorrism.

Its a joke!

The whole world knows what they are all about! Except the people of the US because they cannot turn of their tvs and do their own research and see for themselves.

How can FEMA want all the assistance money back?

1

Question: How can FEMA want all the assistance money back?
I was affected by both hurricanes and received substancial damage from both. So far, FEMA has sent me two letters saying they want the money back. First they said they wanted the $ 2,000 in emergency evacuation funds back for one of the hurricanes. Did I not have to evacuate twice? They said I could only receive assistance for one of the hurricanes since they were so close together. Today they said they want back $ 11,000 that was given to cover personal property loss not covered by my insurance. The appeal for the $ 2000 was shot down and I doubt they’ll even consider the appeal I’ll be sending for the other amount. What else can I do?
I don’t know why they want it all back. For the first hurricane, we evacuated and was not able to return home until the week before the next hurricane. We substained the most damage to our home with the second hurricane and could not return for several months. FEMA even offered us a trailer to live in on three seperate occasions. The FEMA worker I spoke to on the phone could not even tell me why this is happening and was very suprised that my first appeal concerning the $ 2000 was denied. I sent in signed testemonies and receipts to prove we had to evacuate both times, but appearently it just wasn’t enough. And as a side-note to strike eagle who answered first…stop being a dumb-a** ! I am a disabled mother of three. I even do foster care. We lost everything during the hurricanes…our pets, our vehicles, every baby picture of our children. According to FEMA, we substained over $ 150,000 of damage. The amount awarded was the maximum they could give us.
