Disney World now or later? Vermont Family Vacation Resorts? Dude Ranch?
0Question: Disney World now or later? Vermont Family Vacation Resorts? Dude Ranch?
My wife, daughter (nearly 6), and I live in Maryland. We’re considering whether to do Disney World in August or wait a year or two (or three…).
At what age does the wonder start to fade? My daughter loves (most) princesses now; when does the imagination fade? I’m hoping for an age that combines an ability to go on rides (she’s 4′ tall) with her current innocence/wonder. When I was 12 or so, I was already too “mature” (in my mind) to like many kiddie rides or Disney characters. (As the Byrds sang, “I was so much older then; I’m younger then that now.”)
If we don’t do Disney World this year, we’ll likely do a Pennsylvania trip this summer, which would include staying at a working farm, going to an amusement park, and going to Pennsylvania Dutch country.
Next summer, we might do Disney World or a family vacation resort in Vermont, like Tyler Place or Smuggler’s Notch.
And what age is good for a dude ranch trip?
Any thoughts on this jumbled mess of ideas?

When does innocence fade? I don’t know. I was 22 when I went to Disneyland in California. I was like a kis in heaven. I guess it depends on the person. By the time she gets into MTV it’ll prob. be too late for her to get all fanatic about Cinderella, so maybe as soon as possible.
Dude Ranch? Take to ride horses near where you live first, then you’ll get the feel of whether or not that’s something she’d like. But then, all girls like horses, and a working farm sounds great. You’re a bery thoughful Dad. My hats off to you.
By the way, How’s her breathing after the pool incident? I keep up on this stuff.

Is health insurance cheaper if you are married?
3Question: Is health insurance cheaper if you are married?
My boyfriend was going to add me to his health insurance since I didn’t have any. It is going to be an extra $ 320/month for me. I have heard if you are married it is cheaper. Is this true? I am just wondering… I am not getting married just to get cheaper health insurance! LoL.
I know 2 people on the policy is more expensive but I wondered if you are married if it is cheaper for a couple to be on the policy than an unmarried couple or if marital status doesn’t matter.

No, two people on a policy doesn’t make it a cheaper policy and with some companies it actually makes it more expensive. Also, look at an individual policy because unless you’re 63 years old or live in a state like New Jersey where it’s just expensive that’s a very high premium at $ 320/month.

Your itinerary includes Norway’s Bergen, where quaint, colorful buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries line narrow streets; festive Copenhagen, where famed Tivoli Gardens amusement park is a living fairy tale; Polands Gdansk, where daring workers’ strikes helped bring down Communism; sophisticated Helsinki, one of the first planned municipalities in Europe; cosmopolitan Oslo, where most candid and controversial sculptures depict human life cycle-outdoors; Iceland’s Reykjavik, where Viking settlers established the world’s first parliament in 930; Germany’s Rostock, which still conveys a charmingly medieval personality; imperial St. Petersburg, where complex history mixes high culture and cutthroat politics; Norway’s Stavanger, an oil center with an old town of cobblestone walkways and whitewashed buildings; breathtaking Stockholm, whose green spaces and waterways account for sixty percwent of the city’s size; Estonia’s Tallinn, where strategic location on the Baltic Sea has enticed many invaders; and charming Trondheim, Norway’s first capital. Enjoy a fresh and enchanting approach to Europe. Extra Feature: Top 10 Attractions – You can inspect a 1,000 year-old Viking ship in Oslo. Watch czarist leaders and their families return to life in St. Petersburg. And go swimming outdoors in Iceland – in Reykjavik’s geothermally-heated Blue Lagoon. Trying to determine insurance amounts. Per dium is paid for ME&I while on assignment. I am hoping that Workers comp premium should only be charged on true wages. Does anyone know?
Note – employees are short term not perm. 3 month assignments.

Per Diem is considered WAGES unless it is expense reimbursement. Ask your employer’s payroll department how they are reporting it to the IRS.
