I dont vacation here but,i do live here and we get tons of out of town people yearly.Who also seem to adore this area.I live on the emerald coast ..water is wonderful!

Question: Does anyone have any experiences using Bupa International Health Insurance?
Is it truly international and do hospitals in the U.S. recognize it? Also, wondering if there is any other international health plans out there to replace my Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Typically, international health plans are on a REIMBURSEMENT basis – not a “pay on behalf of” basis.
You’ll really have to call the hospital/provider, to see if they “take” Bupa, but as it’s most likely reimbursement, it isn’t going to matter much where you go.

Question: International Travel Insurance?
I’m an international (asian) student at the University of Minnesota and i plan to do some traveling in Europe in august (UK and few EU countries). Any idea on how should I prepare for the visa requirement? Like how much bank balance do they usually like to see? Is international travel insurance mandatory? Where do i get it from? Help me out please…thanks.

Never travel without insurance!!! I’m living abroad in China and do lots of backpacking into South East Asia during my work breaks. I thoroughly recommend looking into world nomads, they have a good policy (I used to work in insurance in Australia and no my way around the loop holes). Plus it’s all on line so it’s a lot easier than a lot of the other travel insurance available. World Nomads is also recommended by Rough Guides and Lonely Planet :)
