Question: Do have any tips to planning a family vacation?
My family is trying plan a vacation that would include a ten yr old boy. Were thinking End of July and somewhere in California possibly, or Hawaii, or any resort thats affordable. Were not looking for the typical disney land vaction just relaxing and new, and most of all fun. Any tips, tricks, suggestions, and of course budget savy savings.

Just off the top of my head…

You may want to find family type hotels, especially ones that have children entertainment and children specials. Some may allow children under a certain age to stay for free or off a certain price.

Depneding how mature he is…bring plenty for him to do so he’s not bored, sitting in the room. Think about bringing an emergency kit along if you’re driving. Never know when it’ll come in handy.

Also if you’re driving, you have to plan for every contigency, like weather, car troubles. You should pack a few extra blankets, emergency car kit, and non perishable food items, and plenty of water.

Depending how long you’re planning to stay, make sure he gets to do what he wants as well, within reason, as the adults. You don’t want him to feel left out.
