How much is renters insurance?
Question: How much is renters insurance?
I’ve lived in several apartments, but none that required renter’s insurance. I’m planning on living alone in a 1 bedroom apartment in the Tucker/Stone Mountain Georgia area and several apartments I’ve looked at say they require it. How much can I expect to pay (approximately) for renters insurance? What factors determine rates for renters insurance? Is renters insurance always monthly, or can you pay yearly or every 6 months? 10 points to the best answer!
P.S. I’ve tried looking around online, but all the sites want an exact address where I’ll be living and my social security number just for a quote. Just looking for the ballpark.
I would be interested in the cheapest insurance I can get. I don’t really have anything worth insuring besides my computer and I wouldn’t get it unless it was required.

It’s been a while since I’ve had it, but it was very cheap, like $ 200 a year. Because you aren’t insuring the structure, merely possessions and liability. I believe I paid mine yearly.
Renter’s insurance is very inexpensive, about $ 150-$ 200 a year. I’m sure you can choose to pay monthly or yearly. Check with your auto insurance agent. They will probably give you the best rate.
Besides covering your possessions, renter’s insurance also provides liability protection, which is what apartment owners are interested in.
