Question: International Health Insurance?
We need help finding an appropriate health insurance plan with maternity benefits…

FACTS:
1) I am a US citizen married to a Turkish citizen.
2) My wife has a US Green Card (legal resident).
3) We used to live in New York City, but we moved to Istanbul, Turkey
a few months ago.
4) We do not have a US residence.
5) We are currently unemployed.
6) COBRA has expired.
7) We do not have any health insurance.
8) We are thinking about starting a family.
9) We are thinking about returning to the USA (NYC or San Diego).

CONCERNS:
I don’t think we can even apply for US health insurance (e.g., Aetna,
BC/BS) from Turkey. And I don’t think Turkish health insurance will
cover us in the USA. So, I am worried about what happens if my wife
gets pregnant. We would want to have the baby in America. And we would want the costs of the pregnancy to be covered.

To be clear: We do NOT want to have a policy with a 12 month waiting period for maternity benefits. We need immediate maternity benefits!!
