I am traveling to Washington and wanted to know the cheapest/best deals for Hotels?

Question: I am traveling to Washington and wanted to know the cheapest/best deals for Hotels?
I wanted to know what the best deals are. I searched on a travel site and got a hotel that was cheap but 12 miles away in Maryland. The hotel has a shuttle to a nearby metro station, but how far is 12 miles and is it easy to get to Washington, DC from the Metro Station to see the White House and Lincoln Memorial and all the sites. Any tips or advice appreciated.

12 miles seems like a lot but it isn’t. If the hotel is near the Metro then it’ll only take 30 minutes to reach downtown DC. Most of the tourist attractions in DC are near the Federal Triangle, Smithsonian, and L’Enfant Plaza stations on the DC Metro. There’s a Days Inn in Silver Springs (20 minutes from downtown DC on the Red Line). It has reasonable rates.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: http://hs10.info/d2o4 and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

On the left panel there is a panel that says LOCATION. simply feed in Whitehouse or whatver u want and u will get options. You can also feed in ur budget.

I did search for hotels near Whitehouse Hopefully link will show below else just search on http://ooaha.com You will get so many hotel options with hotel pics and reviews. Its the best one I have found so far. Hope that helps.

yes, the Metro is great. Many who work in D.C. don’t live in the city but take the Metro to work. So, do not worry about being outside the city for a deal.

However, you will find a fairly cheap Comfort Inn and Motel 6 in D.C.

I just got back from DC yesterday. We bought hotel tickets through priceline.com. Stayed at a four-star hotel for $ 88. It was approximately 15 minutes away.

As far as sightseeing, most of your monuments are within walking distance to the White House. Don’t forget to check out the Vietnam Memorial between the Lincoln Memorial and the White House. Very sobering!
