Are European river/barge cruises fun for thirtysomethings?
Question: Are European river/barge cruises fun for thirtysomethings?
my wife and I love to bike and relax and eat good food, so a river barge cruise in Europe sounds like a fun trip. But I read that most of the other people on these trips are 50+ years old. Will we have fun, or will it be like hanging with our parents? If the former, is there a particular operator you’d recommend for us?

There isn’t a lot of on-board activity. You will mostly be off the ship or watching the sights so you really won’t be “hanging” with anyone very much. I think it would be a lot of fun for you as it sounds like you know how to make your own fun.

I’d say you probably won’t have much fun on the river boat. Your proably better off just visiting a few locations and use mass transit to get from place to place.
