During that time, if she is in the hospital, this coverage will ensure she can be cared for here and won’t rack up enormous bills. Many times, if you don’t have insurance that pays here, you would be shipped to a “low-rent” hospital where they send the poor.
In California, Blue Shield has a good short-term, major medical policy for a low premium.
