Advice for a cruise around the eastern Mediterranean in February?
Question: Advice for a cruise around the eastern Mediterranean in February?
Hi all :) Am heading on a cruise leaving from Genoa in mid February, which travels to Israel, and Egypt. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about what type of clothes to bring for the trip, as I’m not 100% sure what the temperatures or weather will be like??

I’m sorry I don’t know the answer to your question, but I do suggest that since you obviously have internet access that you do a bit of research on the internet! Go to official web sites for the two countries and look for links to average temperatures and climate. You can also go to the major weather-related web sites. I do this sort of thing frequently, and always get reliable information.
I have not done the exact itinerary that you describe but I did just cruise to the Eastern Med this past November 2009 (6th through the 18th) and the weather was fine. We departed from Barcelona and stopped first in Malta before our Egypt stop and the weather in all of those ports was very pleasant, about 60 in Barcelona and then 70′s in Egypt. It was about the same the rest of the cruise which stopped in Athens, Rhodes, and Sicily. A long sleeve shirt was all that I needed during the day and a light jacket for nights. It does get hot in Egypt during the summer but the fall and winter months are great.
This web link gives the current Cairo weather as 66 degrees; check it for a few days to get the trends: http://www.weather.com/weather/today/Cairo+Egypt+EGXX0004?x=12&lswe=egypt&lswa=WeatherLocalUndeclared&y=7
I think you’ll find that the weather is very pleasant all over the Med at that time. I have done three Med crusies in the October to November time frame and its never been cold, just kinda like fall with some cloudy days and some showers occasionally.
