Question: Why is airfare to Hawaii (from PDX) so much higher than last year?
I’ve been looking at airfare to Hawaii for the past few months and have tried mulitple travel sites, but airfare is significantly more expensive than last year on the same dates. I even tried dates in the so called off season and came up with about the same prices. Is it oil? demand?

All the airlines have added a fuel surcharge to their fares.
