Question: Short-term health insurance for foreign visitors to the US?
Most US tour companies that offer tours of Europe offer a Trip Insurance plan. In addition to covering any costs caused by cancellation or delay in the tour, these plans will also cover the costs of any emergency health care during the tour (i.e. broken leg, emergency appendectomy, etc.).

Suppose someone from a foreign country wants to visit the US for 3-4 weeks, but he or she is not coming as part of an organized tour. Is there any sort of short-term health insurance plan that they can purchase from their airline or from an independent company that would cover health emergencies that come up during the trip to the US?

alot of places….private insurance company’s will let you purchase travelers insurance for trips….if you have ever seen that Michael Moore movie Sicko, they show a canadian couple buying travelers insurance to come to the US to visit their family for a couple weeks…

just check around with local insurance agencies.
