I usually stay at the Holiday inn of around 32nd street of avenue of the americas. About a 15 to 20 minute walk. Safe.

I’ve booked a good number of hotels in and around Times Square for $ 80 per night. The trick is using Priceline’s “name your own price” option. Start your bid at $ 80 and make sure to select the Times Square area. Start at 4 stars and work your way down if you don’t get a hit.
