Question: Will dismissed traffic tickets come up in a background check when applying to be a police officer?
I have about 5 traffic tickets over the years going back about 5 years. I did traffic school and got 4 of them dismissed will i be ok or will it be a disqualification right away?

In my state, a background check includes contact with the city and county law enforcement agencies in your home town, and any other addresses you list. If you were given tickets by any of those departments, they will still have a record of it even if the DVM does not.

It wouldn’t be immediate disqualification, most applicants or even the one in charge of the hiring might have had a ticket once before.. In most cases only serious infractions on your record would merit immediate dismissal.. They aren’t that strict as to dismiss you just because of a traffic ticket.. and Yes it will show on your background check that you had those traffic tickets.
