I have 2 daytona 500 tickets and was wondering if i can sell them for more than they are officially worth?

Question: I have 2 daytona 500 tickets and was wondering if i can sell them for more than they are officially worth?
is that legal to do? what is the rule on ticket scalping?

btw.. i will be selling them on ebay if that makes a difference

I read on Nascar.com that Daytona International speedway has slashed ticket prices for certain grandstands for the 2009 Daytona 500. i guess it depends on where the seats are located.

I think it depends on if the race sells out (probably not). if it doesn’t sell out, then my guess is people who have a brain would not buy yours if their cheaper at the track. as for scalping, i’m not sure. good luck!!

you can sell them for any price you want if you do not live in FL. If you reside in the state where the event tickets you are selling is held, you have to sell them at face value.

WHAT??!! You’re not going??!!! Shame on you. Well anyway – good luck with selling them. I’d go if I could afford the airfare, the tickets, the hotel, food, etc…. but alas … I’m unemployed. :(

I would proceed with extreme caution….and check with the laws in your state for such things. But again it is at auction….so I would say it’s better safe than sorry. You might want to start your bid at what you paid…then you are not out anything….then if it goes up….it doesn’t really make you a scalper in my opinion anyways….it seems the customer is scalping themself. Again it’s better to be safe than sorry I would check your states government website or call your congressperson. Just an opinion as always.

You have to check with your individual state that you live in.

Easy way around that, include a Daytona 500 hat (or anything else you can come up with) and say, “for your bid you get the tickets and the hat”. Boom, your off the hook for scalping.
