I am going white water rafting with my family, but my mom is worried about weight limit for herself & that she isn’t physically fit enough. My mom has no mobility problems and she works on her feet all day long. She is able to do mild-moderate hikes without difficulty. She doesn’t have any health problems, but she is overweight. I am trying to put her mind at ease, but I am not having any luck when looking on rafting websites. So, yahoo! public, what do you know?

No offence but how big is your mom? Tell her that it is a blast and she has got to go. I have never heard of any weight restrictions except that you have to be at least 90lbs to hit the class 4 and 5 rapids, and it doesn’t sound like that is a problem. As far as physical strain is concerned there are usually 8 to 12 people in a raft her input will not be missed. Just have her in between two stronger paddlers. I have been on several trips and there are usually at least 3 or 4 people in the raft that do very little paddling.
