My laptop was stolen from my checked baggage?

Very sorry, but this is why airlines say never to put your laptop…or anything else you care about…in your checked luggage. In just the past couple of weeks there have been several stories on the news about theft rings in the airports. If you purchased it within the past year and used an American Express card, they will pay to replace it. Some credit cards have this benefit too…so if you paid for it with a credit card, check to see if they have that benefit. I always make important purchases like that with my American Express card…they paid for tvs and vcrs that were stolen from my home..so I learned it is worth it to use my card for those purchases.
