Question: Can I bring watches to turkey?
I bought 3 watches I want to bring as gifts to people in Turkey. I will be traveling Thursday. Do i have to pay anything to bring the items through customs in Turkey. The total value is less than $ 500.00. Also, I am bringing clothing with tags on for my mother. Should I take the tags off so I don’t pay for customs or is it going to be free to bring with me on my carry on luggage?

I am planning on taking my boyfriend to New York for his 21st birthday. I have never been before and was wondering if anyone would recommend a nice, but not too too pricey hotel in or around the Time Square area. Thanks so much!

Question: What is a great ski resort or place that isn’t well known or expensive for the holidays?
My family and I were planning to go skiing in Breckenridge, but the price to leave early was outrageous. I love skiing so much. I have been skiing since i was very young and I would really like to go skiing this holiday season. If you know of a mountain or resort that isn’t very well-known and/or expensive, i would greatly appreciate it.

I stayed at the Old World Inn right in the middle of Napa (the town) a few years ago: http://www.oldworldinn.com/

I think it’s gone up in price, but I’d certainly recommend it. Keep in mind that “Napa” can mean different things to different people. Not sure if you are a local or not, but most people around here (SF Bay Area) say “Napa” but mean the entire Napa Valley which encompasses the towns of St. Helena, Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford and Napa itself. The whole area is beautiful and charming with the town of Napa probably as the least charming (in my opinion).

Question: Would a garment bag be a good way to hide a way a dead body?
I’m writing my first murder mystery and wondering if stuffing a dead body into a full length plastic garment bag is a good way of hiding the corpse. I think it is but been told since the bag isn’t air tight the odor would seep out. The idea was to hide the body under the box-spring of the victim’s bed. Any ideas if the garment bag wouldn’t work?

Actually I have always liked the idea of stuffing someone in one of those vacuum sealed space saver bags.

Question: Is China travel friendly for an english only speaking single traveller?
I’ve travelled to Australia and Thailand and loved them both. Had a good time and always felt safe. Probably because everyone in these countries speaks english. Should China be my next choice or should I go somewhere else in the Far East?

Singapore is the best place to go in the Far East. They speak English, there are a lot of tropical plants, great downtown entertainment and its easy to get into and out of.

If you do go to China, try to take some English-speaking bus tours. They will cost a little more but you will get to meet some other English speaking people. Before you go, get the name of the hotel you will be staying in written in Chinese to hand to the taxi driver. Try to get the taxis that are in the taxi stand. I don’t recommend you going in a taxi where someone approaches you at the airport. The Great Wall of China is in Beijing, that’s really the best thing to do while you are there.

Question: Planning trip to Kauai, Should I go alone?
I’m going on vacation towards the end of September, and was consider going to Kauai, Hawaii since it looks quite beautiful and relaxing. I’m going by myself, since all my friends are non existent. So from anybody else’s experience, think I’ll have fun going at it alone? Is there enough to do there? I’d be staying for a week.

Also is 1900 a good deal for a week at a hotel with great reviews and a car rental? Thanx in Advanx.

Also (sorry), lol, if not Kauai, anybody have any other suggestions on nice places to go alone on vacation?

If you are a female I would never suggest going on vacation alone. I do have a male friend of mine who went to Kauii along last summer. He fell in love with the place, made many friends and will be moving there once he sells his condominium. Another suggestion for vacation would be a cruise. They have singles cruises as well. My husband and I have cruised over 15 times in the last 4 years and obviously thoroughly enjoy it. You are catered to every moment of the day if you wish and it is very easy to meet people from all over the world.
