The economy on the islands is pretty bad right now so you should be able to find some really good deals. When are you going and where are you coming from? I just booked a round trip ticket from the west coast to Maui for $ 314.00 round trip on Hawaiian Airlines (total). I know of a company in California called More Hawaii for Less that can put a package together that has some really good rates too.

My biggest recommendation for enjoying your holiday on a budget is to stay at a condo (versus a hotel) which has a kitchen. It cost a fortune to eat out in Hawaii. Also, you may want to check out the Entertainment Book which offers great accommodation discounts and coupons. The initial $ 30.00 spent on the book is well worth it!
