Have you ever tried TravelAxe.com?

It is a site that search 10-12 different reservations sites including the hotels own website at the same time and then give you a grid to sort the results in different ways. I have used it quite a few times with very good results. Though Vegas seems to be the city it works best for, I have also used for rooms in SF and NYC as well.

Another suggestion would be my own site (plug, plug!!!) LVCasinoInfo.com. I have an offer page which I posted some of the many email offers I get directly from the casino. It is updated weekly and the site has a bunch of other stuff like room pictures and property maps, all with minimum advertising.

Expedia Travelocity etc are not good for price but they are for convience somtimes they have specials that make packages good but not usually. Priceline is good for price but you dont know where you will ned up North end of Strip 5* used to generally be Venetian which was a good deal but now it can be Trump whihc whilst nice is not in the location that you want to be. As said book the hotel direct you will get much better deal good delas here http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com
