After an interesting train ride, we start a 2 day hike at the middle of the Inca trail, in this case a trail connecting Cusco to Machu Picchu and ascend first to Huinay Huayna, another old Inca city located in the jungle.We continued the next day starting the hike before dawn in order to reach at the sunrise the Sun Gate from where we have the first gasping view over the lost city of the Incas. Descending, we explore all the quarters of the city, talking about its temples, architecture, religion, trade and science. We finish with a hike up to Huayna Picchu from where we can have a splendid view over the entire city.

In a rarefied atmosphere of this Andean city we visit the colonial churches of the city built with stones taken out from the old Inca temples, we visit its charming squares and the most important temple of the Incas, Coricancha, together with Iglesia Santo Domingo built on top of it. Further we climb one of the surrounding hills and we visit Sacsayhuaman, old citadel and religious place overlooking the city, where is held, even today, the most important religious festival of the Incas, IntiRami.
