Question: Health insurance for Aussie moving to Canada?
I am moving to Canada on a working holiday visa in the next few months. Can anyone tell me how health insurance works there?

I have just spent the past few years in England and Italy, which Australia both have reciprocal health agreements with. When I landed in hospital in either country (accident prone one here) it was free as were doctor visits.

Does Australia have a similar agreement with Canada or am I going to have to fork out for travel insurance?

There is no reciprocal agreement between Australia and Canada so you will need to purchase supplemental health care insurance. Canada does have universal health care (we’re a civilized nation) but that doesn’t mean just anyone can use it.
