About the author
Eugene F. Cassady was born in Bakersfield in 1923. He was in a family that was raised in Bakers field since 1885. He attended local schools there are in high school. He received a scholarship to the University of California in 1940, but the Second World War interrupted his studies and he entered the Navy. He returned after the war and received his BA 1949th He married in 1950 and discovered during his honeymoon, that the war started in Korea and was a member of the Naval Reserve. The following year was devoted to war on a destroyer. After Korea, he returned to studies at UCLA and earned an MBA and then worked to become a chartered accountant, he practiced in the last 68 years. As a CPA with a computer, it took a lot of fun writing different things, as this book.

Air TRAN, and depending on where you fly from southwest. I always use Airtran when i fly home to NY from Orlando and if i book it its like $ 80 each way.

It was a cold, ruthless night. I shivered, as I pulled my coat around me. I took Ashley and Abraham out of their cots, and took them into my arms, wrapping mohair blankets around their tiny bodies. I knew it had to be done, and I wanted to keep them as warm as possible. Both of them began to cry, startled by the sudden movement.
“Harold? You’re setting off now?” called my mother, rushing outside, Father close behind her.
“Yes mother,” I said, “Take care, I will be back. ” Mother gave Ashley and Abraham one last cuddle, before embracing me. My elder sister Georgina was fast asleep in bed, as she had spent all day out in the hot blaring sunshine.
“Have a good journey, and make sure you write. ” said Father, “It will not be the same without you at home. ”
“I’ll miss both of you. ” I said. I needed to get out of that town. Too many bad memories. Annabel, my sweetheart, and Ashley and Abraham’s mother, had been killed by her brother, in an ‘honour killing’, because I just wasn’t good enough for her, or so it seemed to Jared. He was a cold blooded killer, and he said he was coming for me. Mother, Father and Georgina were moving somewhere far away, and I was pursuing my dream of travelling around the world. I set the twins down in the little fishing boat, and clambered in after I was sure that they had gone to sleep. I unhooked the boat from the dock, and set off. I looked back at the sleepy island of Kefalonia, before it completely disappeared out of view.
