my question is do they have to pay to keep their boats out there? or do you just have to pay boaters insurance or something? i dont know.

I met a guy doing this some years ago, apparently linking canals/rivers to take a private boat down to the Med so the owners could holiday down there. He then sailed the boat back for them (after the summer). Is this a common thing? If so, where could I find out about it? I’m keen to do something like this if anyone has any ideas. Thanks.

I am an experienced dinghy sailor and racer, but i do not have a lot of big boat experience, i was wondering where there are courses to learn about big boats and what sort of official certifications there are that you need to crew on a boat.
